Dusk in the Wahiba

After lunch in the shade of a palm tree, our guides will drive you through traditional villages, past old forts, watchtowers and date plantations.  By mid afternoon we would leave the mountains behind and head west for the Wahiba Sands Desert. Passing the 18th century fort at Mudayrib and with the sun beginning to drop, we enter the russet red dunes and head due south into the desert and to the camp.  The light is perfect at this time of day.  On arrival, staff provide refreshing cold flannels, carry bags to tents and brief everyone on the camp.  Once guests are settled sundowners will be served and, at around 8pm, dinner.

We have a seasonal camp set up in the Wahiba which can be visited as part of our Northern Itinerary.  This takes in the best of Northern Oman and is a fully guided trip taking 3 or 4 nights, with nights spent in both our Wahiba and Jebel camps.

Our Wahiba camp can also be visited by those wanting to drive themselves, or as part of a guided foray into the interior of Oman.

For those wanting something special, we have set up bespoke camps in many areas of the desert, the maximum number of people so far has been 100 people, but we love a challenge!
