Mountain camp on Jebel Akhdar

We camp at around 1000m with views towards Oman's highest peak, Jebel Shams.  Situated amongst some of Oman's most dramatic mountain scenery, this is a great base from which to explore the area.  There is plenty on offer and the camp makes a great base for exploring Northern Oman.  Only 2.5 hours from Muscat, 25 minutes from the old capital town of Nizwa and 15 minutes from the ancient town of Bahla, the camp is also directly accessible to Wadi Bani Awf, one of Oman s greatest off road drives.  We are also close to a host of spectacular mountain villages, date plantations, forts, castles and of course the souk in Nizwa.  
There are many activities directly around the camp, walks for geology and flora enthusiasts, visits to traditional villages with opportunities to meet local people and gain an insight into the local way of life.  At night, the stars are extraordinary and there is plenty of scope for keen amateur astronomers.

Our Jebel camp can best be enjoyed as part of our Northern Itinerary.  It can also be visited by those driving themselves.

We can, of course set up camps for events in many different areas around Jebel Akhdar.
