An amazing driving experience
Oman, despite its small size, offers a variety of amazing driving experiences. From the rugged Hajar mountains to the vast deserts like the Empty Quarter, and beautiful beaches along the coastline, there’s something for everyone.
The tropical beauty of Salalah and the rugged Dhofar mountains are a must-add to the adventure. With limited accommodation between the north and the south, we are the experts at creating something magical with some amazing driving in between. Especially when the dreary winter hits the rest of the world, Oman’s warm climate becomes an appealing escape. Ranging from 25 degrees in the day to 18 at night, perfect for camping.
No man can live this life and emerge unchanged. He will carry, however faint, the imprint of the desert, the brand which marks the nomad; and he will have within him the yearning to return, weak or insistent according to his nature. For this cruel land can cast a spell which no temperate clime can match.

Our expedition camps
Whether it’s just a short self-drive adventure with us combining 2 camps in 2 different locations with a desert crossing in between rest assured we can help you navigate that with a guide to trail you. Or if you are into trying something that crosses the whole country then we can really create an amazing experience just let us know your appetite.
For our longer self-drive expeditions, we set up our normal camps for either 1 or 2 nights with a chef, waiters, managers, hot water for showers, 3 course plated meals as we usually do and in between the luxury camps we set up a “light camp” the concept was pioneered by Tour de Force in the UK. The camp is true to Oman’s history in expedition travel by bedouins and famous explorers like Wilfred Thesiger. We’ve embraced this tradition for our “Light camps,” venturing deep into remote areas with all our necessities. This self-sufficiency allows us the freedom to explore as we please. Carrying our tents, water and sleeping gear. Racing ahead of us each time a small team to set up our toilets, a majlis and a kitchen where we will serve more of a buffet-style meal.
Regardless of the camp you’re in, be assured it’ll be unlike any camping experience you’ve had before. We understand what’s important, necessary, and even pleasantly surprising about living under canvas. We’re also committed to minimising our impact on the environment, ensuring we leave our camping spots as pristine as we found them, if not better.
Wherever we go, expect a gorgeous location, a warm welcome, delicious food, cosy beds, and all the essentials for enjoying the outdoors.
